The solution against frost!
VENTIGEL is an innovative system for protecting crops against spring frost.
Operating principles
“When dry, a plant can withstand frost for 40 minutes to 1 hour, whereas when wet, it can withstand frost for no more than 10 minutes” Publication CTIFL
VENTIGEL's main objective
The primary objective is to ventilate early enough with a powerful jet of forced air, thus drying out the plots and preventing condensation forming on the plants. It also helps redistribute rising warm air in the event of a radiant frost.
But that's not all!
VENTIGEL’s second objective is to provide calories when temperatures continue to fall during the night.
Its concentric jet of air at over 35 m/s (126 km/h) enables it to cover great distances and still have air movements at 100 m (i.e. 3.14 acres).
The VENTIGEL’s adjustable inclination allows it to be adapted to all types of terrain, and its 1/2 cone-shaped air outlet ensures a wider air jet and sufficient contact with the ground thanks to the Coanda effect.
This dries out the vegetation and limits evaporative cooling. The air in the plot circulates. Low points where cold air accumulates are also eliminated.
"Of the last 6 springs, 4 were marked by late frosts".
VENTIGEL is an innovative system for protecting crops against spring frosts. It has been designed and developed by passionate and committed winemakers and industrialists in response to this increasingly common problem.
It combines strong ventilation with on-board heating, enabling you to dry and heat your plots above critical thresholds simply and efficiently. It is entirely manufactured and assembled in France by POLYPOLES (33), a company with 30 years’ experience in aeraulic systems.
The benefits of VENTIGEL
EFFECTIVE
Powerful for 2 to 3 acres, mobile at will, easy to use.
ELECTRIC
Its high-flow helical fan, based on an electric motor, is easy to use and maintenance-free over time (compared to expensive, polluting and complicated combustion engines).
INTEGRATED HEATING
Its 110 kW oil-fired auxiliary heating system adds heat to the main air flow. Thanks to its flexible rotating sheath, 100% of this energy is used.
ECONOMICS
The investment is much lower than for existing systems, and no civil engineering work is required. Installation costs are minimal, and power consumption is just a few euros per hour.
ECOLOGICAL
Electricity consumption is 12 kWh, and auxiliary heating consumes less than 11 L/h of fuel. Once stored, it has no visual impact.
MOBILE
VENTIGEL is less than 1 m wide and can be placed between the rows of vines. It comes with its own 3-point linkage.
PRACTICE
Assembly requires just a forklift and less than 1/2 hour’s work. Compact, it can be stored on your property at the end of the frost period. VENTIGELTM requires very little annual maintenance.
MADE IN FRANCE
VENTIGEL is patented and manufactured in Le Haillan (33) by a group of local subcontractors.

They talk about it better than we do
"Ventigel is among the least expensive systems on the market, with minimal running costs."
"Ventigel has clearly helped us to easily protect our 2 Ha vineyard. In 2021 we froze 90%
and this year just 2-3%."
"The advantage of Ventigel is its mobility. You attach it to a tractor and set it up wherever you want. We could even have placed it between the rows of vines - that would have been fine."
